Debra Hoggan

Passionate about working with Indigenous learners and entrepreneurs, Debra has assisted in developing two Indigenous MBA programs for universities in BC—one of which was approved by the Ministry of Education as an independent academic program. Drawing on her MBA from the Beedie School of Business and a Project Management Certificate from Langara College, Debra has also helped launch numerous Indigenous-owned businesses, including a cultural centre, an essential oils company, and several art galleries.

Debra wholeheartedly believes in education as a vehicle to self-determination and has enjoyed watching learners build confidence and reach their dreams over the years; many have started businesses, become elected officials, and pursued PhDs. They are all role models within their Nations, communities, and families.

As a jewellery designer specializing in beaded earrings, Debra is drawn to artsy and cultural events. She also studies Cree, piano, flute, and poetry, and is an avid scrabble player and jigsaw puzzler.
