
On October 20, 2026, the First Nations Technology Council will proudly host the Amplify Awards, a celebratory evening reception recognizing Indigenous individuals, communities, and organizations that are using technology to advance Indigenous self-determination and support economic, cultural, and community well-being.
Hosted at TELUS Garden, this special evening will honour outstanding achievements in Indigenous-led technology and innovation. The Amplify Awards celebrate individuals, communities, and organizations at the forefront of digital advancement, highlighting their leadership and the meaningful impact of their work on Indigenous communities across British Columbia.
Nominations are now open for the Amplify Awards, offering an opportunity to recognize Indigenous technology leaders, communities, and organizations whose work is making a difference across British Columbia. We invite you to nominate those who are advancing digital innovation, strengthening community capacity, and creating positive change through technology.
Nominees must meet the following eligibility requirements: individuals must reside in BC, communities must be located in BC, and Indigenous organizations must have offices in BC and serve Indigenous Peoples in the province. On May 27, 2025, on the traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, our inaugural Amplify Awards were hosted at the Microsoft Vancouver office. The venue served as a hub where technology and tradition meet, making it a fitting setting for the occasion. The event brought together Indigenous innovators and British Columbia’s tech sector to honour those using technology to strengthen communities and lead change.

Innovative Community or Organization Award: Heiltsuk NationBlending AI and traditional stewardship to restore salmon populations and advance food sovereignty.
