Amplify Awards Nomination Form

On October 20, 2026, the Technology Council will proudly host the Amplify Awards, a celebratory evening reception that recognizes Indigenous individuals, communities, and organizations utilizing technology to enhance Indigenous self-determination and support economic, cultural, and community well-being.

Amplify Award Nominations

The Amplify Awards recognize the outstanding achievements of Indigenous technology leaders dedicated to empowering Indigenous students and communities through innovation. The awards will honour individuals, Indigenous communities, and organizations at the forefront of digital advancement and technological innovation, highlighting their significant contributions to community development and Indigenous leadership.

 

Award Category #1: Indigenous Technologist Award

Honours an Indigenous technologist, entrepreneur, or digital creator whose work demonstrates strong technical leadership and tangible benefits for Indigenous Peoples. This may include individuals working in industry, founders, researchers, creative technologists, or community-based innovators.

Award Category #2: Innovative Community or Organization Award

Recognizes an Indigenous community, Nation, non-profit, social enterprise, or Indigenous-led organization that is using technology in a transformative way to enhance social, economic, cultural, or environmental well-being for Indigenous Peoples.

Award Category #3: Emerging Indigenous Leader Award

Celebrates an Indigenous person aged 18–35 who is early in their career and demonstrating notable leadership, creativity, and momentum in using technology to create a positive impact for Indigenous communities.

Who can be nominated?

  • Nominees must be Indigenous and have a strong connection to British Columbia.
  • Individuals must reside in BC or be undertaking significant work that benefits Indigenous communities in BC.
  • Communities and organizations must be located in BC or have core operations here and serve Indigenous Peoples in BC.
  • Projects or achievements should demonstrate technology-enabled impact within the last 24 months and reflect Indigenous values, cultural integrity, and community benefit.
  • We welcome both self-nominations and nominations submitted by others.

We're looking for nominations that demonstrate:

  • Meaningful Indigenous community impact
    Clear benefits for Indigenous Peoples or communities.
  • Creative and innovative use of technology
    Technology used in transformative, culturally grounded, or community-driven ways.
  • Cultural grounding and ethical practice
    Respect for Indigenous values, protocols, and responsible engagement.
  • Leadership that uplifts others
    Leadership that builds capacity, inspires, and supports others.
  • Sustainability and future potential
    Ongoing impact, growth, or long-term viability.

Your nomination does not need to be long. Just focus on sharing clear examples of impact and how technology is being applied to make a meaningful difference.
