About Colin

Colin Linger Sr. is an elected Councillor for Xa’xtsa (Douglas) First Nation and an active leader in regional governance and economic development. He also serves as Vice President and member of the Board of Directors for the Lower Stl’atl’imx Tribal Council, a Director for TTQ Economic Development Corporation, and a Board member for Tsetspa7 (Loakam) Logging Ltd.

Driven by a commitment to creating sustainable opportunities for his Nation, Colin’s work focuses on strengthening food security, advancing clean energy, and building long-term economic growth. Among his many accomplishments, he helped develop a multi-crop hydroponic greenhouse facility that produces locally grown vegetables for Douglas and neighbouring communities—creating jobs, training opportunities, and local revenue.

He has also played a key role in implementing an Energy Management System for Douglas Nation, improving energy efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting community members in making informed choices about their energy use.

Colin graduated from the Ch’nook Aboriginal Management Program at the UBC Sauder School of Business. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and being on the land through hunting and fishing, practices that keep him grounded in culture and tradition.
