Partner With Us: Hire Indigenous Tech Talent

The First Nations Technology Council (FNTC) partners with employers across British Columbia to create meaningful, paid work experiences for First Nations learners and alumni.

Through our Career Pathways Internship Program, employers play a critical role in supporting Indigenous talent by providing hands-on experience, mentorship, and pathways into long-term careers in technology-enabled roles.

About the Internship Program

Our Career Pathways Internship Program connects employers with trained First Nations learners and alumni in technology-enabled roles.

Program Snapshot:

  • Duration: 16 weeks
  • Hours: 25–37.5 hours per week
  • Internship Terms:
  • Winter: January – May
  • Summer: May – August
  • Fall: September – December

Who Can Participate

We welcome a wide range of employers, including:

  • Indigenous businesses and organizations
  • Non-Indigenous employers
  • Companies in technology, digital, or innovation-related fields
  • Organizations able to provide meaningful, supervised work experiences

All internship roles must be technology-enabled, meaning they incorporate digital tools or systems in meaningful ways.

What We Provide

The FNTC Career Pathways team supports employers throughout the process:

  • Employer onboarding and guidance
  • Recruitment and intern matching
  • Wage support funding for eligible employers
  • Regular check-ins and ongoing support
  • Coaching on supervision and performance conversations
  • Mediation support if challenges arise
  • Program evaluation and reporting assistance
