Digital Illustration & Visual Collaboration

The First Nations Technology Council is seeking proposals from an Indigenous artist or Indigenous artist collective to collaborate on the creation of custom digital illustrations for our upcoming brand, website, and digital learning platform redesign.

Mandated by the First Nations Leadership Council, the Technology Council is the designated organization responsible for advancing digital literacy, improving internet connectivity, and guiding data and digital technology strategy for all 204 First Nations in British Columbia. This project supports that mandate by strengthening how we present our work and by enabling access to practical digital learning resources.

We are seeking an Indigenous artist or collective capable of delivering:

  • A custom digital illustration system aligned with our refreshed visual identity
  • Hero or feature illustrations for use across our website and learning platform
  • Supporting illustrations, motifs, and reusable visual elements suitable for digital and print applications

Please note that the design vendor responsible for the broader branding and website project is being procured through a separate RFP on a parallel timeline. The selected artist will collaborate with the design team as part of an integrated creative process.

Scope and Deliverables

This project will strengthen the First Nations Technology Council's digital presence by ensuring that our refreshed visual identity reflects our mandate, values, and the communities we serve.

The selected artist(s) will serve as a creative collaborator, contributing original artwork to support a cohesive, contemporary, and culturally grounded visual identity reflective of an Indigenous community in British Columbia.

The work includes:

  • Participation in early concept discussions and alignment with the overall brand direction
  • Creation of a cohesive, reusable illustration system for digital use
  • Development of visual assets suitable for use across the website, digital learning platform, reports, and communications materials

Final files must be suitable for digital and print use, including scalable vector formats and high-resolution raster exports. The project includes up to two rounds of revisions.

All artwork must be adaptable, accessible, and designed to support long-term use across evolving digital platforms.

Timeline and Budget

Project start: April 2026
Initial concepts and direction: May 2026
Final artwork delivery: June 2026

Total maximum available budget: $20,000 CAD, inclusive of all fees and expenses.

The First Nations Technology Council reserves the right to adjust the timeline as needed in coordination with the broader redesign project.
