Shay Boechler

As the Director, Career Pathways, Shay takes a strategic approach to actively engage in reconciliation and create local, transformational change within the tech and innovation sector. Shay is responsible for research and engagement activities as they relate to BC's tech sector and the current labour market landscape. She also works to hear from First Nations communities across BC bout their visions for technology and to better understand what tech-related skills Indigenous Peoples have now and want for the future.

Shay has 10 years of community engagement and project management experience, previously hosting workshops, conferences, and training sessions with First Nations communities across BC. She was also involved in various language revitalization projects, travelling across Canada to support community-based efforts including training on audio recording techniques, data collection, and archiving. Shay spoke at TED Talks Vancouver in the "Best of BC Technology Showcase" about their language development app.
